Minneapolis developers built Centre Village in 1985 with a multi-functional planning in mind. Situated across from the impressive Government Center with its beautiful gardens and flowers, Centre Village began as part of the Business District’s urban housing plans. It is much more than that today, though. Centre Village is connected to the famous downtown Minneapolis skyway which provides residents with awesome views of some of the area’s best buildings and it is also a way to travel between buildings without dealing with the traffic and other obstacles down at street level. On the roof of Centre Village sits a luxurious pool and deck that residents can use on a hot summer day for swimming, tanning or just relaxing after work. You can also see some of the most unique structures that surround Centre Village from the roof, including designs by architects like Kohn Pederson, Edward Charles Bassett and Helmut Jahn.
